FOR a band that plans to take over the name of rock'n'roll, this is hardly the most ground-breaking of albums: most tracks are three to four minutes of melodic nu-metal, a touch of a Motley Crue bassline overlaid with a modern riff, at times slower but without any grinding or lurching.
They no longer sound like Alcazar goes nu-metal, although there's definitely a hint of Abba on Plastic Plan (too cruel!). Sporadic Movement is different to the rest of the album, and different in general, while Close Yet Far, the token slow closing number, is good, too. Shock And Terror has a funkier feel to it, while the lyrics get weirder: who would want to gag a maggot and why?!
