A TOUCH of Hollywood is being brought to a North Yorkshire charity fundraising event.

Marie Curie Cancer Care's Harrogate Support Group is gearing up for its major annual ball in support of local Marie Curie Nurses.

To be held at the Majestic Hotel on Saturday, April 5, guests will this year be the stars at The Hollywood Ball.

Last year's event was a sell-out, and tables are going fast this year for an event which is a fantastic excuse for putting on the style.

Guests will sparkle at the drinks reception, through dinner, followed by an auction and draw for super prizes, and finishing with live entertainment, and dancing. Of course, there will be a casino for the less energetic, and silent auction for those who like to bid on the quiet.

Tables are for ten people, and tickets are £50 each. The money will be used to support the work of local Marie Curie Nurses, who provide practical nursing care to people with cancer in their own homes, mostly involving an all-night stay. The service is offered free of charge to patients and their families.

Susie Fothergill, community fundraising manager for the charity, said: "The ball has grown over the years and the ball is now our premier event in North Yorkshire. It is always a fantastic night out, to be enjoyed by friends or clients, and this year, as usual the organising committee have many surprises in store."
