YORK Ladies made full use of home advantage as they cruised past Scarborough in the Yetton Trophy beating them 105-47 on aggregate.
Both home rinks only lost four ends in each of their games.
Carol Instone, Sue Kirkpatrick, Sue Tomlinson and Joan Jackson went through a purple patch when they scored 20 shots which included a six between the 12th and 16th ends to lead 35-2 on their way to a resounding 40-4 victory.
Helen Walker, Ena Neal, Maureen Walker and Madge Zimnoch got off to a flier leading 16-3 after only eight ends and then won ten successive ends on their way to an easy 34-6 win.
At Scarborough, Pat Napier, Trish Harrison, June Clayton and Dot Kennelly were involved in a tight game where they scored five shots over the last four ends to come back from 16-15 down to win 20-18.
In the other rink Linda Harrison, Melanie Brooke, Joyce Chelin and Norma Reed were trailing 9-7 after ten ends but could only score four more thereafter as they lost 19-11.
York now play Cumbria in the Zone Final on Thursday, January 23.
York's Division Two team in the Yorkshire Over-55s League have it all to do when they play the second leg of their fixture against leaders Featherstone at home tomorrow after losing 60-21 on aggregate away.
Geoff Oglesby, Ian Teasdale, Ken Lewington and Ken Hutson won the first four ends to lead 5-0 but then lost 11 of the next 12 ends to trail 25-7. With time for only two more ends the visitors won both with singles.
The other rink of Tony Bryan, Arthur Dunbar, Dave Holder and Charlie Arnett had a nightmare start winning only two of the first 14 ends to trail 26-2.
Thereafter they stopped the slide by winning the remaining ends 10-9 but the damage had already been inflicted and they lost the game 35-12.
