THE Way We Were column (January 10), referred to a motorcycle safety campaign set up in York. This was the origin of the present York Rider Training Scheme.
During the past 25 years we have trained more than 12,000 riders, run various fun and safety events, worked with youth schemes and overall during the period have seen a steady fall in national accident rates, despite a large increase in motorbike usage.
We thank instructors past and present for all their efforts.
