YORK City reserves were due to play their first game of 2003 this afternoon, which could also prove to be their last.
The Minstermen's second string were taking on Lincoln City in an Avon Insurance League division one (north-east) clash at Bootham Crescent, kick-off 2pm.
Featured in the starting line-up was Jon Parkin, who was hauled off midway through the first-half of Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Torquay.
Also set to play were defenders Scott Jones and Chris Smith, the latter returning from suspension. Both could be in line for a first-team recall at the weekend.
City reserves: Collinson, Law, Jones, Wood, Smith, Okoli, McKenzie, O'Kane, Parkin, Wilding, Arthur. Subs, from: Hampshire, Ashcroft, Coad, McCabe, Davies.
