UNIVERSITY students objecting to the introduction of top-up fees will be voicing their concerns at tonight's full council meeting in York.
On Saturday the Evening Press reported how the University of York could be allowed to charge students up to £3,000 a year with the introduction of top-up fees.
The university's students' union are strongly against the fees being introduced claiming York will become a "rich university."
Members of the Liberal Democrat Society at the university will be attending the meeting at the Guildhall to put their views across.
One of the objectors, Keith Aspden, who will be speaking at the meeting, said: "In Scotland up-front tuition fees have been scraped, grants for poorer students are back - and the numbers of students applying are up. In Wales, 43,000 students are set to benefit from the reintroduction of student grants."
