A FORMER Askham Bryan College student has been given an award for his outstanding
contribution to the study of trees.
Graham Watson, 54, who grew up in Strensall, and now lives in Scotland, was given the Ken Martin Memorial Award for his contribution to Aboriculture by the Scottish branch of the Aboricultural Association.
Graham who works at the Scottish Agricultural College, was instrumental in developing the aboricultural elements for the diploma and higher diploma in horticulture. He said: "I was quite surprised and felt it was an honour.
"I was the first person to receive it before retiring."
