A car and a lorry were in a collision near Sherburn-in-Elmet today.
Firefighters from Tadcaster were called to the crash between a Vauxhall Calibra and the truck at 8am in Little Fenton Lane, outside the British Gypsum works.
The drivers needed help getting out of their vehicles. They were treated by paramedics and taken by ambulance to York Hospital.
Meanwhile, four people were taken to hospital after a crash on the A64 at Bilbrough, near Tadcaster, after two cars collided on the eastbound carriageway at about 5pm yesterday.
A spokesman from Tadcaster fire station said the accident had occurred when one of the vehicles joined the carriageway from a slip road.
The firefighters helped paramedics treat the casualties, who were taken to York Hospital by ambulance.
