A TEN-year-old York boy who lost his beloved radio-controlled plane when it flew away on Christmas Day, has found it - thanks to the Evening Press.
Darren Crake appealed in the newspaper for the return of the craft, which was lost when he took his son, Daniel, to try it out in the grounds of Westfield School, in Acomb.
Knapton farmer Ray Lancaster saw our article and contacted Darren to say the plane may be in his cornfield.
"I put on my wellies and went to the field on New Year's Eve," Darren said.
"I found the plane and it was perfectly intact. It was like having two Christmas Days for Daniel."
Darren rewarded Ray with a thank-you card and a bottle of wine.
"We took the plane out again, but it got stuck up a tree and Daniel had to climb up and get it," Darren said.
"I'll wait for better weather before we take it out again."
