RETIRED engineer Terry Chambers is the new captain of Selby Golf Club.
A member for 30 years, Chambers (pictured right) says that all money raised by the club in charity events this year will go to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Mr Chambers, 68, of School Close, Selby, is a 17-handicap player and is a former chief engineer on super tankers.
He said: "I used to sail seas throughout the world and appreciate the great work done by the RNLI."
Married to Annette, a club member and former ladies' captain, the couple have three grown-up children.
