WHAT a sad and sorry plea from John Batchelor ('Diligent intention' YEP 2/2/03), I nearly wept for him!
How fortunate that Mr Batchelor was able to achieve sponsorship for his unheard of motor-racing team.
Such a coincidence that this sponsorship was from a York-based company who have since applied for planning permission to build houses on the home of the football club Mr Batchelor had managed to purchase for the kingly sum of £1!
Strange though that Mr Batchelor now claims that he achieved this sponsorship for his motor-racing team.
Have you forgotten Mr Batchelor when you announced this sponsorship you said the lion's share of it was to go to the football club?
Mr Batchelor does seem to have a short memory but the fans don't. (Remember he promised 100 per cent ownership of the club to York City Supporters' Trust and then next day did a U-turn!)
