New Earswick Swimming Club's Andrew Clapham scooped the Top Boy award in his age group for the second year running at Wear Valley Swimming Club's Xmas Graded Gala held at Bishop Auckland.
Clapham won the 13 years 100metres butterfly in a personal best time, touched in third place in the 50m backstroke, fourth in the 50m breaststroke and received speeding certificates in his other three events for exceeding the grade time allowed for the events.
Emily Broadbent, aged 13, finished in second place in the 50m butterfly and sixth in the 100m butterfly.
In the Open Gala held the following day, Tony Shaw was just edged out into second place in the 14 and over 200m
individual medley, finished in third place in both the 100m. backstroke and breaststroke races and was sixth in the 100m freestyle. Emily Broadbent came sixth in her first 200m butterfly race.
