STEVE Limbert threw three 140s to record a tremendous 13 darts for Greyhound against Tap in York Open League division one.

Dave Bath (21) also did well and Greyhound had the match won at 5-1. Wendy Smith, with a singles and pairs win, was Tap's best.

Volunteer top the table, but found the going tough at Slipper.

A 21-darter from Mark Fratson was backed by a fine 20 darts from Mike Harris to put Volunteer in the driving seat. Pete Turnbull closed in an impressive 19 darts, then Slipper took the next two pairs to square the match, but Fratson-Harris combined to take the all-important ninth leg.

Meanwhile, from 2-1 down Bay Horse 'A' rallied to take the remainder and maintain pressure on the leaders. Paul Lane stood out for Cygnet in their 6-3 win at Clifton.

Division two leaders Howden had Dave Tatterton in form and extended their advantage with a 6-3 result over rivals Pack, whose Dave Smith played well.

Mount 'A' moved into second place with a sound 6-3 against Ebor, and Huntington 'A' team's quest to return to the top flight was boosted by a narrow 5-4 win against Reindeer, whose Bob Rochester included 180 for 20 darts.

A 104-bull-finish from Roger Pirrie followed an excellent 19-darter from Steve Parkinson in Leeman's 6-3 victory over Crescent 'B'.

Mal Woodward checked 92 in Huntington 'B' team's whitewash of Indoor Bowls which puts them top of division three. Fulford Arms were all square after the singles but Yearsley moved up a gear and took all the pairs in which Steve Parker checked a ton finish.

Good scores from Jackdaw's Mark Sommerville saved the aggregate point in a 5-4 defeat at Bay Horse 'B'.
