THE 21st century seems to have passed by a certain corner of Harrogate. The Tory gentlemen of the town's Conservative Club would rather not allow women to speak up or vote at meetings.
Because of this fusty male intransigence, the club could well lose its licence - and its right to sell alcohol.
If the club would like to relent and join the rest of us in this century, then they could keep their club and still have somewhere to drink.
It seems like a fair exchange.
