FANCY a house with a view? How about a city centre flat which comes complete with two bedrooms, all mod cons - and an exotic dancing pole in the living room.

Company MD Grant Faulkner, 38, is moving out of his £150,000 Skeldergate flat for more spacious digs in Fulford Road.

He's leaving behind the specially-constructed ceiling-to-floor chrome pole which comes complete with a clear acrylic table and matching stools on a stainless steel floor.

But Grant, who works for tipper truck component company Harsh Ltd, says he can't live without the unusual feature, so he's commissioning builders to install another at his new home.

He believes the pole is the first of its kind in a York home and says it makes an interesting talking point for guests.

"I had it put in before I moved in and it has taken the place of the TV or stereo now," he adds.

Grant's girlfriend, Clare Hustler, said the pole has seen some use in the past "from time to time."

She said: "It's not just an ornament. It is really quite stylish, very good for a morning or evening workout."

Joining the exotic pole in the living room is a bar, complete with overhead spirit optics and a real ale pump.

Pam Potts, of Hudson Moody estate agents, says the modern flat might suit a young businessman.

She says: "I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like this before during my 16 years in the property business.

"It might not be everybody's cup of tea - but it is unusual."
