NEW British Rally champion Jonny Milner, from Huggate, near Pocklington, heads for Lake Superior in Michigan this weekend, for the final round of the United States SCCA Pro Rally Championship.
He and Welsh co-driver Nicky Beech have forsaken their usual Team Dynamics Toyota Corolla WRC, and will be driving for Subaru Rally Team USA, run by motorsport giant Prodrive. As part of a two-car, Pirelli-backed team with Finn Tapio Laukkanen, Milner and Beech will be trying their utmost to help Subaru snatch the Manufacturers crown in the SCCA series.
Milner, who recently dominated the York-based Trackrod Rally of Yorkshire, will be driving an Open Category Subaru Impreza WRX.
Milner recently contested the Maine Rally in the SCCA series, finishing sixth overall.
Milner said: " It promises to be another high quality event. I hear the stages are quite varied with rough and soft gravel in places, so it should be a good challenge."
