FOOTBALLING York pub regulars are on the verge of sporting glory in the final of a national five-a-side charity tournament.
The team from the Fox Inn, in Stockton-On-Forest, have won a place in the final of the 'Spirit Group Football 5's Pub Club Challenge 2002' competition.
Team captain and pub regular Paul Abbey led 'Forest Park' to victory in the regional heats staged in Leeds.
They now hope to go all the way in the finals, which will be staged in Birmingham on Sunday, October 20, when a prize of £2,500 will be up for grabs.
The tournament is raising money for the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK, set-up in memory of England's World Cup winning captain, who died in 1993.
