A WRETCHED finish denied North Yorkshire's Simon Dyson a promising position at the half-way stage of the Lancome Trophy.
The Malton and Norton star was four-under for the second round - and seven under for the tournament - after 13 holes of the second round.
But then Dyson's sureness of touch deserted him as he dropped shots on the 14th, 15th and final holes at the St Nom-la-Bretche club near the French capital of Paris.
That left him with a second round 70 and a two-round four-under-par total of 138 going into today's third round, which was led by the Netherlands' Maarten Lafeber. He shot 65, to mirror his first round score, for a 12-under total of 130, two ahead of first-day pace-setter Alex Cejka of Germany.
