CYGNET startled Bay Horse by going 2-0 up in York Open League division one. But 18 darters from Rich Corner and Andy Lawson got Bay back into contention and Dave O'Hara and Corner combined to get a 5-4 win.
Tap raced to a 4-2 lead which included a maximum from Dean Saxton and a 20-darter from Darren Bailey. Slipper rallied to secure all the pairs for the match, however Tap held the aggregate.
John Quantock stood out for Six Bells but they went down 7-2 to Volunteer whose Paul Botterill threw 21 darts, backed by a splendid 120-check from Mick Ward. Mal Muncaster (18) starred for Crescent 'A' at Clifton. He and Chris Parlabean grabbed a 5-4 win.
Early division two leaders, Huntington 'A', beat Hospital Social Club 6-3. Steve Rice won in 20 darts, then added a pairs maximum. Frank Brown was Huntington's best performer.
Ebor staged a fine three pairs fight back to win 5-4. However, Reindeer's Bob Rochester (20) and good scores from Phil Paylor saved the aggregate.
Roger Pirrie hit the all-important double to give Leeman a narrow win over Pack who did enough to salvage the aggregate point, while Howden beat Woolpack 7-2.
In division three, Adam Lancaster got Little John's only point against Jackdaw whose Mark Sommerville checked 110. Ship impressed with a fine 5-4 win over Mount 'B'.
Chris Downing stood out for Burton against Indoor Bowls and Pip Hair scored the tons as Huntington 'B' beat Fulford Arms 7-2.
