IMPHAL Tigers junior football team are on the march.
The Army at Fulford have got the new Under-9 team up and running in the York Mitchell Mini League.
They drew their first ever competitive game 3-3 with New Earswick after being 2-0 down.
The youngsters, from the Fulford area, play at Imphal Barracks where the soldiers organise the team.
Scott Swinton, of Tilmire Close, whose son plays in the team, said of the Army. "They are to be commended for this as there was a real community need for the the team. The organisation is excellent and, most of all, the kids love it as it is done in the spirit that football should be played at that level."
