A PODIUM finish proved elusive but there was still plenty to cheer as the York City Racing Team crossed the finish line in the 2002 British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park.
While York-born driver James Thompson lifted the title in the premier touring class, the City race team, run by City Batchelor, had to be content with two top five finishes in the production championship
Driver James Edwards junior came fifth in the driver's championship, while the team also claimed fifth spot in the production teams' table.
