FLOOD dangers have been highlighted as homeowners are urged to discover if their homes are at risk.
The Environment Agency's flood awareness campaign was brought to Rawcliffe, which was heavily hit in the York floods of 2000.
Local MP Anne McIntosh joined the organisation to encourage house and business owners to make sure they are prepared for rising water.
During an inspection of Rawcliffe's flood defences, she said: "Homes right across the Vale of York have been severely affected by flooding.
"Floods cause an enormous amount of distress and I am pleased that the Environment Agency is now taking steps to help people find out if they are at risk."
