KING Kyle ruled the roost in the East Riding Union of Golf Clubs' junior match-play championship.
Held at Kilnwick Percy the tournament was won by the host club's Kyle Mathers, who came through the field of 16 qualifiers to beat Cave Castle's Ross McArthur in a dramatic final.
After 18 gruelling holes both were deadlocked. But Mathers, who had earlier ousted A Gunnarsson (Brough) and then David Peasegood (Hornsea), took the match with victory at the first extra hole to take the match-play trophy and the G E Clark Jubilee Trophy.
Third place went to Peasegood after he similarly beat Mark Thompson (Sutton).
