YORK Groves will attempt to bridge a three-division gap on Saturday when they entertain Keighley Town in the second round of the Yorkshire Cup, writes Peter Martini.

The Terriers, of Pennine League division four, were among the majority of teams to be given byes to round two, but were not given an easy draw against a side who play in YL division one.

However, Groves have won their only league game so far this season, while Town were hammered 50-0 in theirs.

New Earswick All Blacks are also in Yorkshire Cup second round action and will be looking to take their good league form in to the away fixture at Redhill 'A'.

The All Blacks, who beat Pudsey 36-4 in Yorkshire League division one last week, will come up against an unknown quantity as Redhill's second string, also of division one, have yet to play a competitive fixture this season.

All Blacks will be without Paul Raybould (injured) and Jon Paul Wong (unavailable) but could welcome back former York Wasps forward Mick Ramsden, while Paul Boitoit, Pete Nowell, Tom Perkins and Steve Sullivan also come into contention. Adie Robinson faces a late fitness test after playing last week with a groin strain.
