After a series of warm-up games, City of York Ladies complete their pre-season shedule at home to Durham on Saturday before North League Premier Division fixtures start on October 5.

City of York Ladies II open their Yorkshire League Division Two campaign next weekend at Richmond.

City of York Ladies IV enjoyed a 9-0 friendly win against Halifax IV but will face sterner opposition from their own club in their opening Division Six League game when they take on City of York Ladies III next Saturday (University 1.30pm).

Although without some of their regular players, Nestl Rowntrees produced a fine display to beat visiting Selby 3-0.

The first half saw them take advantage of chances and skillfully convert them into goals from Jane Markland (2) and Vanessa Walker.

However, Selby never gave up and applied severe pressure in the second half creating chances from short corners. But thanks to some excellent goalkeeping from Nestl 'keeper, Elaine Robinson, the hosts held on.
