INDUSTRIAL sewing machines, office equipment and other stock belonging to the ill-fated Marshall Brothers, the Filey leather goods manufacturer, raised £45,000 at auction, it was disclosed today.
The company, one of the country's best known makers of toddler reins and one of the last UK firms to bind books in leather, had its assets put under the hammer following its liquidation. Auctioneers CJM Asset Management, say that the money raised, plus a further £5,000 through pre-auction sales by private treaty, will be distributed to creditors. through the liquidator Mark Loftus of BKR Haines-Watts.
