A BOMB hoaxer caused major disruption at one of North Yorkshire's busiest tourist attractions.
Part of Lightwater Valley, near Ripon, was cordoned off for three hours while police and theme park staff searched for explosives.
A ride had to remain closed for the afternoon while engineers carried out a detailed examination.
It followed a telephone call made to the park shortly after 11am yesterday.
About 800 visitors were at there at the time.
A police spokesman said: "A telephone call was made to the park suggesting that there was a bomb. The area identified in the call was closed and it was searched by staff with police officers.
"Nothing suspicious was found and the call was deemed to be a hoax."
