THREE-YEAR-OLD racehorse Evening Press has been entered to run at Beverley tomorrow, just three days after her race at Catterick on Saturday.
There are 77 entries in the 4pm £4,000 Brian Merrington Memorial Stakes Handicap over one mile, one furlong and 207 yards, and if she doesn't get a run, she could then turn to a one-and-a-quarter-mile selling handicap at Redcar on Friday.
She finished seventh of 11 in her one-and-three-quarter-mile three-year-old seller at Catterick on Saturday.
She was beaten by 12 lengths by North Yorkshire winner Branston Nell, trained by Geoff Swinbank at Melsonby.
Ridden by Paul Eddery, Press settled at the rear, then hogged the rails and made good headway but found nothing extra in the last two furlongs.
Eddery said she tried hard but might be better over a shorter distance, say one-and-a-quarter miles, while trainer Tim Etherington said she was more professional this time and could have been in the shake-up but for the handicapper.
