WEST End actor Mark White got tips on how to be more like Marco Pierre White when he was given a taste of life as a chef to prepare for a York theatre production.
John Benson-Smith, chef patron at Hazlewood Castle, near Tadcaster, provided tuition on the finer arts of cooking for Mark and fellow star Paris Jefferson.
The culinary master class took place at the Theatre Royal's Walmgate rehearsal rooms, ahead of next month's production of the comedy Frankie And Johnny In The Clair de Lune.
In the play Mark plays lovestruck chef Johnny, who seeks to woo sceptical waitress Frankie - played by Paris, whose roles have included a part in Xena - Warrior Princess - by using food as the way to her heart.
The play, in the Theatre Royal Studio, runs from October 3 to 26. For tickets call the box office on 01904 623568.
