IT IS important to explain to young children the need to report anything to their parents on seeing needles or similar in their area so parents can take appropriate action (Parents shock at drug needles in city, September 18).
Sad as it may be, we must tell our children the importance of looking out - and must do so in detail and not just say "leave them alone, they are dirty".
Explain to them in detail that they may become very poorly, if they prick themselves or their friends.
