STARRY-eyed philatelists marked the first anniversary of a unique North Yorkshire astronomy centre with the launch of a special set of stamps.
Visitors to Dalby Forest Astronomy Centre were treated to one of the first sightings of a new set of Royal Mail stamps.
The four first-class stamps combine to depict a dazzling array of stars across two galaxies and two nebulae.
A dozen members of Scarborough and District Astronomical Society, which jointly runs the centre with the Forestry Commission, were present to put their seal of approval on the collectors' items.
The four stamps will go on sale on Tuesday.
