BAY Horse, Fulford, the York Atlas Auto Services League division one champions, made a handsome profit from the competition finals at Crescent WMC.

Partnering Rich Corner, Simon Craven was a maximum scorer and checked both games for a 2-1 pairs championship victory against colleagues Paul Cooper-Allan Galley, and Cooper won a thrilling division one individual title tussle over Clifton's Martyn Turner.

Despite an opening 180 Cooper score, Turner took the first in 19 darts. Even so Cooper levelled then pocketed the decider with a superb 16 darts.

Bay Horse added the Triples trophy by beating Clifton 5-3.

Craven, Galley then Cooper rode their luck to forge a 3-0 lead but Turner shot a marvellous 180 for 15 darts against Craven and Neil Hart hammered in a splendid 20.

Bay went further ahead as Cooper came up with 21 darts against Clifton's third representative Martin Waddington but Hart again hit back to make it 4-3 with 19 darts.

The chips were now well and truly down and Galley produced an excellent 18-darter to clinch the match.

Bay Horse's Corner and Clifton's Paul Brandon combined to beat Gary Richardson (Huntington) and John Smith (Tap) in the Blind-draw Pairs Final while a tremendously high scoring mixed pairs final saw Russ and Sue Turpin (Slipper) shooting a 24-dart 701 to beat Cooper (180)-Sheena Jackson 2-0.

Andy Edkins (Howden Arms) included a fine 21 darts to edge John Quantock (Six Bells) for the division two Individual title and Mark Thornton (Puss 'n Boots) took the division three crown 2-1 when Mount's Nick Harteveld cracked when called to produce the winning double.

Trafalgar sailed into a new York John Smith's Men's League season with a clean sheet win at Slip, Kelvin Frankel setting them off in an excellent 18 darts.

Chris Thompson (18) and Tony Cooper (20) starred in Sun 'A's 6-3 win at Shepherd, while Ray McInally (18) and Darren Hawcroft (20) put Poacher on the path to a 7-2 victory over Flag.

John Mooring shot a splendid 17 darts then partnered Dave Gibbons to get Cygnet 'A' a 5-4 result at Rose and Crown, who had Graham Wilkinson, Mark Addinall and Paul Bartnett providing good middle-order resistance.

Gary Wensley-Pete Green tipped the scales Green Tree's way against Osbaldwick.

In division two, only Chris Brown marked up a win for Sun 'B' against Swan, whose opener, Ged McMahon, set the standard.

Barry Houlden checked bullseye for 21 darts but, with just Dave Atkin backing, Groves went down to Blacksmiths, who had Phil Derbyshire finding a fine 19 darter.

Saddle's 6-3 win over Slip included a bull finish from John Page, while Kevin Pallister-Colin Hodges (Green Tree 'A') sealed Institute 'A's fate with a wide-margin 701.

Four tons-plus in the pairs from Ian Hartley set up Keith Graham-Derek Hartley (180) to take the match for Cygnet 'B' against Institute 'B'.

Mark Allan set off with a 180 score in Old Ebor's 5-4 win over Holgate, who took the aggregate point.
