WHAT on earth do First think they are doing by stopping our half-hourly bus down Green Lane and replacing it with an hourly service?
On August 30 our No 15 made its last half-hourly run down Green Lane and was replaced on September 2 by an hourly service, the No 17.
On the same date a No 6 service was introduced which missed out Green Lane completely. It runs straight down Water Lane. The No 6 runs every ten minutes into and from town.
Should you look at the density of population served by these two routes (No 6 and No 17) it is obvious that the original Clifton Without and Rawcliffe catchment area has been disenfranchised by this change. Also, the No 6 runs by York District Hospital - the No 17 doesn't, which again causes considerable problems especially for the elderly.
It is time First had local managers who know the areas instead of outsiders who have no idea of our needs, ones who should think more of their passengers' needs instead of profit.
