HARROGATE Town's disappointing run in the UniBond League premier division stretched to seven games without a win after they lost 2-1 to Frickley Athletic last night.

Despite the return of John Fielding, Nick Richardson, Scott Bonsall, Scott Jackson and Colin Hunter, Town failed to make an impression against a side that had only won one of their opening fixtures going into the game.

Frickley took the lead after just ten minutes, but John Reed's men battled back well with scores levelled when one of the visiting defenders put the ball into his own net from Marc Thompson's corner.

Frickley were back in front before the break and although Thompson went close with a free-kick, Town could find no way back.

Harrogate Railway finally took their FA Cup form into the Northern Counties East League premier division as they overcame Eccleshill United 2-0.

In-form striker Steve Davey was on target with his third double of the season to complete a comfortable win for the Railwaymen.

Eccleshill's only chance came from the penalty spot, but goalkeeper Ed Neale was hardly troubled as the ball was fired high over the bar to ensure Rail kept their first clean sheet since the opening game of the season against Arnold Town.

Pickering Town went down by a solitary goal when they entertained Sheffield, who have yet to lose this season.
