NORTHERN LIGHTS, the Harrogate public relations company, has beaten off competitors to win a major contract from the Learning and Skills Council North Yorkshire.
The contract, to promote Modern Apprenticeships, includes working with Connexions and the Jobcentre.
Its brief is to organise a marketing campaign targeted at public and private sector employers, produce a prospectus for young people, design a website and organise presentations to schools across the county.
Kevin Marrow, of the LSC North Yorkshire, based at Clifton Moor, said: "We chose Northern Lights because it was clearly focused on our target to help 4,000 young people find jobs with training and encourage employers to recruit through Modern Apprenticeships."
Modern Apprenticeships are for young people aged 16 to 24 in careers ranging from photography to media, pig-keeping to business administration, and sports management to retail. Employers receive help with recruiting and training the young person, and young people on a Modern Apprenticeship work towards nationally-recognised qualifications.
