LAST Friday I needed to use a loo and visited the "Splash Palace" in Parliament Street, York. Going down the slippery steps I kept a grip of the handrail.
Halfway down the steps I receive a blow on the back of the legs which, had I not been holding on to the handrail, would have sent me very quickly to the bottom.
It was caused by someone following me down the steps, who lost his balance on the wet steps and descended several steps on his backside.
Fortunately, he was a youngish man and he was not hurt.
It could have been so different ...
Are we waiting until there is a large claim for damages against the council before something is done about these atrocious steps? Putting a sign at the top saying "caution slippery floor" is just not good enough.
