Former Ryder Cup captains Bernard Gallacher and Tony Jacklin head a distinguished cast for the De Vere Hotels Seniors Classic at the magnificent De Vere Slaley Hall in Northumberland from August 30-September 1.

Gallacher captained Europe in The Ryder Cup Matches in 1991 and 1993 and then led them to victory at Oak Hill in 1995.

The Scot took over the reins from Jacklin, the most successful European Ryder Cup captain in history, with an unrivalled record of two wins and a tie with only one defeat. Jacklin, winner of the Open Championship and US Open Championship, was recently elected into the World Golf Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding achievements.

The field also includes Neil Coles, designer of the spectacular Priestman Course which will host this year's Classic.

He broke his own record as the oldest winner in the history of the Tour after winning the Lawrence Batley Seniors Open at the age of 67 years and 276 days.

Coles is the only player world-wide to have won an individual event in six different decades.

The De Vere Hotels Seniors Classic over 54-holes of strokeplay, carries a prize fund of £150,000. Tickets are available on the gate or by calling 01344 840401.
