The "world's most famous clown", Ronald McDonald, blasts off for outer space from the Grand Opera House, York, next week in a feast of magic, fun, stunning costumes and scenery that is guaranteed to bring a smile to any child's face.

Ronald and the visiting Space Ranger prepare for the launch of a new rocket to take them on a trip into outer space.

But mischievous Hamburglar wants the rocket for himself to take him to the moon, where he hopes to find his favourite food, Green Cheese.

He outwits Ronald and his friends with a magic spell which makes him invisible, and blasts off before they have a chance to stop him. Ronald needs another rocket, and turns to the Fry Guys to help him build one quickly.

What follows is a spectacular ultra violet rocket chase across the stars of the Milky Way as Ronald tries to catch up with Hamburglar.

On the moon, Ronald meets some new friends - but soon realises that only the children can help him find Hamburglar and get back home before a nasty storm threatens to leave them stranded.

Ronald McDonald's Adventure In Space starts at 2pm on Wednesday at the Grand Opera House, York.
