WATER music with a difference is coming to York today - when a transparent sphere carrying a live musician floats down the River Ouse.
As part of the York Colourscape Festival, a 25ft-wide PVC globe will travel between Lendal and Ouse Bridges, as festival director Simon Desorgher plays his flute for the enjoyment of onlookers. Mr Desorgher today confirmed the event, for which he did a "dry run" yesterday, would definitely go ahead, despite the wet weather.
A multi-chambered, brightly coloured labyrinth has also been erected in Museum Gardens for the festival.
The sphere will be on the River Ouse from 9pm. The Colourscape labyrinth will be open in Museum Gardens from tomorrow to Sunday, August 11, from noon to 5pm.
