I NOTE that planning permission for a restaurant in Heslington has been refused.
The parish chairwoman Haleh Afshar said "residents need their peace and quiet" (July 12). Would that we could get some peace and quiet in Bishopthorpe, lorries thunder through all day obviously taking a short cut to somewhere.
The residents unfortunate enough to have road humps outside the properties have to put up with the vibration, pollution and stress caused by the combination of road humps and lorries.
Removing both, or at least introducing a weight limit, would help.
