WOLVERHAMPTON Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey and boss Dave Jones are set to sit down and discuss their next steps concerning want-away York City keeper Russell Howarth.
Howarth, 21, has returned to the Molineux club after his refusal to play for the Minstermen in the absence of injured shot-stopper Alan Fettis.
Howarth has impressed during his extended trial at Wolves and, as reported in Saturday's Evening Press, did not want to risk picking up an injury which would scupper any deal to take him to Molineux.
Wolves have had one bid for the out-of-contract England Under-21s glovesman rejected out of hand by City, whose value of Howarth is vastly higher than that offer.
Wolves will now have to decide whether to increase their original bid, sign Howarth and let a tribunal settle the matter or end the trial. But as of yet, the Wolves have not been knocking at City's door with an improved bid.
City chief executive Keith Usher confirmed: "There is nothing further. Wolves haven't come back to us with a new offer."
