Cash-strapped Yorkshire are to call an extraordinary general meeting of the club which will seek permission to raise at least an extra £2m to cover the increased costs of Headingley's redevelopment.
The meeting will be held in the new Cricket Centre at Headingley on Thursday, August 29, at 10.0am.
The only business on the agenda is a committee resolution which, if approved, would increase the club's borrowing power from the current £5m to a maximum of £10m.
Yorkshire members will be told tomorrow that ground development proposals approved two years' ago indicated a bank funding requirement of £3.8m in addition to £1m of the club's own funds.
Flash floods and heavy meant there was no play in Yorkshire's semi-final showdown with Surrey at Headingley today. Umpires John Hampshire and John Dudlestone made an early inspection of the ground and ruled that play would not be possible. Fortunately, play can run into tomorrow and Friday if necessary which is some consolation to the 4,000 or so fans who have already bought tickets.
