A MAN who died after being found slumped over a wall in Holgate has been named.
Diamond Wharton, 34, from Sirocco Court, Fossway, was discovered on Saturday morning.
An inquest into Mr Wharton's death was due to open and adjourn today, but the cause of death is not believed to be suspicious.
Mr Wharton was found by members of a hen party staying at the Holgate Hill Hotel, who had seen him collapsed at about 1.45am on Saturday.
Police issued a description of him in an effort to discover who he was.
The York coroner's office said he had died of asphyxia.
