JAYNE Janes closed on 25 double 20 to put Phoenix 'B' on level terms at 3-3 against Slip in York John Smith's Ladies Darts League division one.

Angie Hields was again in high scoring mood as she hit three tons to win her singles and Phoenix went on to clean up in the pairs for a 6-3 result, Wendy Smith starring for Slip.

Dot Trousdale put Half Moor ahead, but Cygnet 'B' flew to a 7-2 victory.

York Arms were gifted seven points as Clifton 'B' failed to field a team.

Division two leaders Clifton 'A' again scraped in by the slightest margin, Ruth Norman and Jan Wilberham gaining victory at Jubilee.

Clifton 'B' won a close match 5-4 against second-placed Leeman 'B', Debbie Benson-Julie Maycock sealing the win. Mother and daughter Jean and Toni Smallwood were Leeman's best.

An excellent performance by their captain Doreen Johnstone (100, 100, 140) spurred Slipper to a 6-3 win at Britannia 'A'.

Sue Richardson (120, 100) and Linda Davies hit the big scores for Severus, but Brenda Hodgson-Maggie Beddingham steered Shepherd 'A' to a 5-4 win.

Shepherd 'B' went 3-0 down to Burton WMC, whose Val Pinder scored 140, 100, but Diane Clasper put them on the path to reeling off the remaining games for a 6-3 victory.

Division three leaders Holgate WMC were made to fight hard. Ackhorne's Anne Keswick threw well to level at 3-3, but Pat Rainton combined with Dawn Bulmer to edge it and then Anne Smith-Lyn Gould secured the match.

Second-placed Puss 'B' collected the spoils with Linda Goldsmith-Mags Formstone.

Tang Hall WMC had the points in the bag when Julie Dowson put them 5-1 up at Cueball, while a 5-4 result also went Mitre's way when Carol Pearson-Cherelle Jarvis won at Old Ebor, whose Audrey Allan played well.

Mount put pressure on the top two by galloping to a 6-3 scoreline against Woolpack, Teresa Sale hitting the tons.

In their bid for York John Smith's Men's League division one honours, Cygnet 'A' lost a valuable aggregate point to Sun 'A'.

Cygnet won 5-4, with another good game from John Mooring, but there wasn't much they could do about the extra point as Thompson opened for Sun with 17 darts and then with Tony Cooper included a maximum to score 701, with the throw in just 20 darts.

Shepherd 'A', the leaders by three points, had 180 scores from Dave Gibbons and then Mark Jones and 19 darts each on the trot by Mick Willsden, Owen Legg and Kev Walton to beat Trafalgar 6-3.

Ged McMahon had a 17-darter for Swan, but Osbaldwick hit back to win 6-3. Tony-Dan Tait picked up the decider for Bootham Tavern at Dringhouses.

Steve Snowden was a 180 scorer for Green Tree 'B', but Rob Atkinson-Alec Cowden took Holgate to a 5-4 result.

An excellent 21 darts by Graham Wilkinson over the individual champion knocked the heart out of Poacher and Horseman went on to win 6-3. Paul Bartnett-Brian Harden sealing the victory.

In division two Paul Calpin opened Flag's account with 20 darts and Keith Allan-Mark Lea made it 5-4 at Vaults.

Gary Farthing-Keith Graham secured Cygnet 'B' victory against Institute 'A'. Only Pete Ross got on the Groves' sheet at leaders Shepherd 'B'.

Rich Craig-Rick Hipkins saw Slip to the points at Sun 'B'. Noel Cooper-Chris Rowe strengthened Saddle's second-place bid by beating Institute 'B'.

Col McMahon and Mark McLaren gave Old Ebor a last game 5-4 win at Green Tree 'A'
