CITY of York Council are correct in their caution about John Bachelor's proposal to site York City's new stadium at Clifton Moor ('Pitch battle', July 26). The ring road cannot cope with any more traffic. On Saturdays Clifton Moor is like hell on earth it is so congested.
As a concerned resident of the area, I don't really relish the prospect of lots of football fans - particularly some of the away fans - swarming through the housing estates. I am assuming that Mr Batchelor will not pay for special buses to carry them here from the station.
Does Mr Batchelor think he can be petulant and demand his way solely because he is rich? Does he think reality will alter to accommodate his plan?
The council should refuse to be intimidated by this bully. I would welcome the council telling John Batchelor where he can put his plans.
