DIVISION Two leaders Tadcaster Magnet had an overwhelming victory over bottom placed Clifton Alliance.

The Clifton side fell to their tenth defeat after being demolished for 38 by Paul Clark (6-20) and Paul Downey (4-12).

Russ Parker fell for 29 as Tadcaster raced to their tenth win of the season with nine wickets in hand.

Magnet's lead was stretched to 22 points as second-placed Stamford Bridge were held to the worst of a draw by Malton & Old Malton.

Aussie Ben Nicholson top scored for Malton with 76. Guy Johnson added 54 to take his side to 204-8 although teenage bowler Dave Chaplin emerged with considerable credit in taking 5-49.

Graham Tipping then made his first half century of the season, an exact 50, and other runs came from Andy Milner (39) and Peter Aconley (34no). However, the decisive performance of the game came from Wayne Dawson whose 6-75 restricted Stamford to 183-8.

Hornsea dished out a ten-wicket beating to Harrogate at St George's Road. The home side were restricted to 135-9 by Richard Pace's 4-28. Paul Clappison then scored an unbeaten 87 as he and Richard Webster (38no) knocked off the runs without loss.

There was a high scoring game at North Marine Road where lowly Bubwith made a second innings total of 213-8 but were still well adrift of Scarborough's 266-4. Chris Dove was the Scarborough high-flier with 91, while Andrew Gallagher hit 78.

Neal Readman made an impressive 87 not out for Bubwith and Edward Smith helped to earn a draw with 44 despite a good spell by Robert Harrison who captured 6-66.

Bridlington found themselves caught in traffic on the way to Studley Royal and were obliged to bat first after arriving well after the scheduled starting time.

They totalled 150-7 but Andy Mackle steered Studley to a three-wicket win with 52 not out.

Wilberfoss had to thank their last pair of Des Healey and Dave Hollingsworth for their draw against Castleford after they had negotiated the final five harrowing overs.

Castleford had made a first innings score of 179-8. Geoff Room then made 91 in reply but Chris Young caused panic in the Wilberfoss ranks with 5-45 before he and his team-mates were thwarted by the last two home batsmen.
