Mark Hutchinson grabbed two early wickets when Duncombe Park took first knock in their Hunters the Estate Agent York and District Senior League division one game at Crayke.

Park's fortunes improved when Paul Wilkie and Peter Kent took the score to 84 before Kent fell to Andrew Dawson for 31.

There was a stand of 66 before the dismissal of Marke Mulvihill for 24 by Hutchinson triggered a collapse which saw Park slide from 150-3 to 173-8.

Wilkie was one of those to go when he became one of four victims for 'keeper Graeme Dawson.

Hutchinson's 7-67 in 15 overs soon had the Helmsley side all out for 190 in only 37 overs.

With a 53-over innings in prospect, Crayke made a poor start as the Dawson brothers were both dismissed with just 16 on the board.

Eric Watson (46) and Dave Thomas (57) took the score to 106 but both were dismissed by Justin Lewis.

Paul Hutchinson offered further resistence with 26 but Crayke's innings fell away as Lewis claimed 3-61 and Wilkie 2-43.

Two run-outs by Colin Humpleby had the hosts rueing the extra overs but they were just able to hang on for a draw at 179-9.

Carlton Towers slipped out of the top two for the first time when they suffered an unexpected defeat at St Helen's Road, where John Crowe (77) and Mick Kenyon (32) steered Dringhouses to a six-wicket win.

Alistair Darnell took 6-34 and Kenyon (2-58 in 19 overs) gave good support. Kashif Siddique and Jamie Pocklington each made 29 and Dave Longley 35 but Carlton's 158-8 proved to be an inadequate target.

Both sides gained the full batting reward at Ripon, who beat bottom-placed Stillington by eight wickets.

Stillington's Aussie Mark Maddock carried his bat through the innings to reach his third century of the season, making an unbeaten 126.

With a total of 662 runs from ten innings, he is the leading run scorer in the whole league and is on target to emulate his two illustrious predecessors at Stillington, Collis King and Mohammed Hafeez.

Stillington made 223-5 as slow left armer Mark Barber took 4-87.

Chris Waters scored 55 and then an unbroken third-wicket stand of 127 between Howard Wooding (82no) and Gary Blackburn (53no) took Ripon to their sixth win of the season.

Whitkirk took advantage of Carlton's slip-up to move into second place with a nine wicket win at Hull Zingari. Alistair Markham (52) and Matt Wilkinson (67) were top scroers in Zingari's 181-9. Matt O'Brian took 6-39.

Craig Shipton and Neil Edgecock each made an unbeaten 87 to take Whitkirk victory.

Sessay needed 18 off three overs to pass Driffield's 204-8 but could only reach 197-8. Chris Chapman hit 76 for Driffield. Nick Harrison made 60 for Sessay but Chris Smith (3-35) and Mark Woodcock (3-39) just gained the upperhand.

At Clifton Park, York had the better of a draw with Goole Town. Andrew Kay (59) and Dave Catlow (39) made early runs for York.

Dave De Sylva then virtually doubled his runs for the season with an unbeaten 65 and Brendan O'Donovan added 31 to York's total of 223-4.

Goole's Steve Foster was dismissed for 95, while Dave England hit 60 as Kent Stone took 3-64 in 17 overs to peg Goole to 202-7.
