Pakistani international Kashif Raza had a field day for Woodhouse Grange against ten-man visitors Pocklington in the premier division of Hunters the Estate Agent York and District Senior Cricket League.

He demolished the visitors, taking seven for 19 to have them all out for 56, and then he scored an unbeaten 24 as the Woodhouse Grange batsmen also found the pitch favouring the bowlers.

Richard Foster took 3-14, but Raza's ability saw Grange to a five-wicket victory

Osbaldwick had a good victory at Easingwold, Shaun White topping the bill with 6-45, including a hat-trick when he dismissed the last three home batsmen in the final over.

Jonathan Marwood made 27 for the home side and James Pringle added 33, but White had a sound ally in Damon Ashton who took four for 64 as Easingwold were bowled out for 147.

Osbaldwick's top scorer was Dave Cooper, who made 62, while Richie Carew remained unbeaten with 54 when his side ran out winners by seven wickets.

Acomb's Shanuka Dissanayake had his third five-wicket haul of the season when he claimed 6-79 at Pickering who totalled 160-8. Chris Nicholls top scored with 54 with Craig Aconley making 25. In Acomb's reply, Andy Tute made 44 and his side were able to win by three wickets despite Mark Shepherd's 3-10.

The 'match of the day' took place at Clifton Alliance, where both the home side and leaders Dunnington gained full batting points.

Clifton were able to post the highest total conceded by the leaders this year when they reached 222-9 through Dave Taylor who made 60, Simon Corley 41, Richard Musgrave 41 and Simon Dwyer, whose unbeaten 43 hoisted the Alliance total to 222-9. Collis King was the pick of Dunnington's bowlers with 4-68 in 15 overs.

Dunnington lost Simon Kellett early and then Collis King, who two weeks ago became the first player in the entire league to reach 500 runs for the season, fell for 26.

Hamed Khan followed his ton of the previous week with 84 and then Harwood Williams (68no) and Alvin Kallicharran (25no) took the reigning champions to a seven-wicket victory which has increased their lead to 45 points over second-placed Heworth.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge skipper Mike Smith grabbed two early wickets when second placed Heworth batted first and slipped to 37-2.

Dave Simpson and Richard Bowling then took control and put their side on top with a third-wicket stand of 122 before Bowling was caught by Paul Oldfield off Danny Snowball for 64.

Simpson then found another erstwhile partner in Chris Mead who made 29 before being fourth out at 222. Simpson reached his 11th York League century before he was bowled by Harrion Muller for 111 as Heworth reached 245-5.

The Bridge started badly when both Steve Crowder and Paul Oldfield were caught behind by Mark Lynch and the they lost a third wicket at 29.

Mike Smith and Paul Scaling then saved the day with a 117-run stand for the fourth wicket until the League's leading wicket taker Shahid Khan parted the pair at 146 when he bowled Scaling for 49.

Smith had progressed to 76 when he fell at 181-7 to Khan, who ended with 4-72, taking his haul to 42 at the halfway stage of the season.

Harrion Muller then showed his value as a late order batsman as he steered his side, firstly to full batting points and then to a draw at 214-6, the South African remaining unbeaten with 20.

Thirsk have failed to gain a single victory at the halfway stage of the season and had to accept a draw just failing to match the 204-7 scored by Beverley Town.

Richard Taylor made 63 and Jamie Mitchell 41 for Beverley, while Thirsk's Barry Petty got back into the old routine with a good bowling spell of fcour for 66.

In reply, Thirsk skipper Darren Wyrill acted as anchorman with 78 whilst Dave Greenlay made 37 and neil Stephenson 36 but Barry Sayer took 3-58 and Thirsk fell just short of their target at 197-8.
