YORK Rugby Union Club's youth section enjoyed a magnificent year capped by appearances at the game's Twickenham headquarters.

Top of the youth section's list of memorable achievements was a share of the Prudential Cup Under-12's Trophy after their showdown with Preston Grasshoppers (as pictured above at Twickenham).

The U10s meanwhile were beaten Prudential Cup semi-finalists also at Twickenham.

To commemorate the superb season the club made its annual awards.

The winners included: U7s player of the year coach's award

Stuart Leigh, Harry Hall; U8s player of the year coach's award

Evan Sleeman, Tom Kimpson, Oliver Snook; U9s player of the year coach's award

Adam Johnson, Sebastian Simpson, Jack Maud; U10s player of the year coach's award Charlie Nicholson, Thomas Sleeman; U11s player of the year coach's award Charlie Herriott, Will Edwards; U12s player of the year coach's award Michael Harrison, Jonathon Frank, Sebastian Batchelor.

The U13s Neil Woods Trophy (for weekly man of the match, which is given to the most deserving player at the end of the season) Andrew Barker; U14s player of the year coach's award Tom Bewick, Nathan Forrest; U15s player of the year coach's award

Eddie Hick, Darren Rutherford, Mark McDaid.

Representative honours: one for North Yorkshire U13s, eight for North Yorkshire U14s.
