ODO the baby Gibbon is only months old, but already he has formed an unlikely friendship with Jake the German Shepherd.
Odo was born at Flamingo Land zoo, near Pickering, earlier this year, but was rejected by his mum.
Zookeepers Sam Debell and Jamie Tapper have adopted Odo and take him home each night to look after him.
Recently the couple adopted a German Shepherd dog, Jake, who was kicked out of the army because of behavioural problems.
"We tried to continue his training after the army, but we didn't have much success," said Sam.
"Since we took both Odo and Jake under our wing they have become best of friends.
"Odo is no longer satisfied with his climbing frame and his cuddly toys when he gets home.
"As soon as he gets home he heads for Jake and the pair of them play for hours on end. Jake was a little bit wary of Odo when they first met but over the last three months he has learned to tolerate Odo's mischievous games, such as pulling his tail and scampering in between his legs."
